Some expressions are similar to Spanish. Some others are quite different. Take a look at them and try to use them in context.

The Ball Is In Your Court:
It is your decision this time.
The Last Straw (that broke the camel´s back):
When one small burden after another creates an unbearable situation, the last straw is the last small burden that one can take.
Till the cows come home:
A long time.
To Make A Long Story Short:
Something someone would say during a long and boring story in order to keep his/her audience from losing attention. Usually the story isn't shortened.
Turn A Blind Eye:
Refuse to acknowledge something you know is real or legit.
When Pigs Fly :
Something that will never ever happen.
Different situations regarding phrases:

For example, when a student has to take a test, and until yesterday had not studied anything. In this situation, we have problems!
-Saved By The Bell:
It is related to the previous example, when left to the last minute obligations.
In the case of a trip, a few minutes from the start, and not yet organized the bag. (This last example was a personal experience)
-Scapegoat:
Someone else who takes the blame.
A possible example, when someone breaks an object. Then you take it, and then disarmed in your hand. The object owner is angry with you. But it's not your fault!
- Smell A Rat:
To detect somone in the group is betraying the others.
This phrase is often used when, for example, working in a group, someone is being dishonest, and does not perform the same amount of work as other members. So is betraying their group.
-Smell Something Fishy:
This phrase is often used when there are problems of money, for example, on a bench, when missing money from customer accounts, and is suspicious, then they say that there is "Fishy", something is not right.
-Start From Scratch:
It means that if a job was not done right, and can not be repaired, then you better start it all over again. Or sometimes, it can refer to personal situations, for example, before a war, a family must migrate to another country, and start from scratch, look for work, home, school for children ...
-The Ball Is In Your Court:
With the phrase "The ball is in your court" wants to explain that the decision in different situations is oneself. For example, help the poor, to show solidarity with neighbors, not littering the streets, fighting for a noble, this is each person's desicion.
-The Last Straw (that broke the camel´s back):
For example, when a person suffers throughout the day bad and negative situations, such as fights with coworkers, missing the bus, it starts to rain and wet clothes, the computer is broken ...
Then at the end of the day, at home, sitting on the couch to watch TV, and you cut the light. The final situation is not as serious, but before a hard day, becomes the drop that overflows the glass.
-Till the cows come home:
An example is when two brothers (for different situations) are separated for long. At some point in their lives, one of them returned home. Phrase is also often used when after a fight, two persons broken relationship. The end is the same. In our country, they say: "You're coming with the horse tired"
-To Make A Long Story Short:
This situation usually occurs when a person has no synthesis.
For example, a grandparent, who begins to tell a story, not ends. A short story is long (and usually boring).
Not because say a grandparent is boring, but because after a while it loses its interest.
- Turn A Blind Eye:
Cops who receive bribes, turn a blind eye to illegal different situations.
-When Pigs Fly :
An honest politician and loyal.
